Reference Information Help

This page displays when you click on on the Heading List page and includes one or more of the following types of reference information:

• Scope Notes -- these notes, derived from Library of Congress Subject Headings, provide additional search suggestions and definitions for a heading. The HSU Library Catalog may not have materials for all the suggested headings in these notes.
• See: references -- these official headings must be used in place of the author or subject heading listed on the Heading List page.
• Narrower Term: -- these are suggestions for more specific subjects under which to search.
• See Also: references -- these are suggestions for other closely related subjects under which to search.
• See Also Under: -- these are suggestions for other groups of related headings under which to search.

To search one of the listed references, click on the appropriate heading in the Reference Information table.
